About DSM
Dallas Summer Musicals presents both a traditional summer season of Broadway musicals at the Music Hall at Fair Park and the Broadway Contemporary Series, a winter season of stage plays and musical shows, primarily held at the Majestic Theatre. The two seasons are completely independent of each other. Season tickets for the Broadway Contemporary Series will probably go on sale in August or September. Tickets for the summer season will probably go on sale in November or December (but have gone on sale as late as March).

The best way to purchase season tickets is through the mail-order form included with our season brochure. To subscribe to our brochure mailing, select "subscribe" and select "to recieve mailouts...". Then once on-sale, you can also call our subscription hot line and have them fill out an order form or you can fill one out on-line.

All season ticket orders are processed as a mail order and all are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we do not fill orders until after the subscription deadline when we know which of this year's subscribers are renewing their seats.

Who is “MGI”?
MGI stands for “DSM Management Group, Inc." and is the management affiliate of Dallas Summer Musicals. This management group currently manages the Music Hall at Fair Park, The Majestic Theatre, and will assume management of the historic Texas Theatre when renovation is completed. It is important to understand that Dallas Summer Musicals is a tenant of the Music Hall. MGI is the landlord, handling booking and maintenance of the theatres. All inquiries regarding rental spaces for each of the properties should be directed to Jayne Basse (The Music Hall at Fair Park) and John Wilborn (The Majestic Theatre).

What if I need a handicap or oversized seat assignment or a wheelchair?
Inquiries regarding a handicap, oversized seating assignments, or wheelchair usage should be made to Mary Lou Ivy at The Box Office at Preston Royal Shopping Center.

Telephone: 214.691.7200 :: e-mail: Mary Lou Ivy

Do you have a lost and found department?
Yes. If you have lost something while attending one of the shows, call 214.421.5678. The operator can check the lost and found log book for your item. If you would like to report something missing, you may also tell the operator, or email Nancy Senter . If you email, be sure to include the day, date, and seating assignment for the show you attended. This will allow us to search a specific area. Also be sure to give a return contact name and number as well as a detailed description of the item lost.

Where is the wheelchair access to the building?
Use the Parry Street entrance. The "circle drive" will be on the right. This is the best place to drop off or pick up. For all accessibility answers, click here.

What about the acoustics of the Music Hall?
It is important to note that the acoustics will change every time the sound system does. Every incoming show brings their own sound system. Every show has its own sound technicians. Therefore, even though they strive for the best sound possible, the sound can be different every time a new show moves into the Music Hall. The management strives to encourage consistency with the touring show technicians, however, ultimately it is up to them to make changes in the acoustical settings of their own equipment.

Child Policy
Dallas Summer Musicals encourages parents to introduce their children to live theatre when they think the child is ready for the experience. We expect that parents will take into account the subject and nature of the show in question; the age, maturity, and interest level of the child; and would be considerate of the other patrons seated near them. Many children will enjoy the experience of going to a show even if they are not able/interested in staying for the entire performance. As a rule of thumb, Dallas Summer Musicals requires that all children over the age of one year have a ticket for admittance to the theatre. While children under a year old could enter without paying admission, we would expect that parents will not bring babies to the theatre. Some parents also choose to purchase a less expensive ticket for their child and then have the child sit in their lap in a more expensive section. This practice is acceptable as long as it does not impose on other patrons.

Some shows/producers require all patrons, regardless of age, to have a ticket in order to enter the theatre.

Can I get backstage access?
Only by invitation by a cast or crew member of one of the shows.

How do I make a contribution to Dallas Summer Musicals?
All contributions should be directed to Lori Sirmen:

e-mail: Lori Sirmen
phone: 214.421.5678, x 161
fax: 214.426.2994

How do I contact the Fairgrounds Administration?
Main number: 214.670.8400
24 hour event line: 214.421.9600

During the Fair, is the musical included in admission to the Fair?
No. You must purchase tickets for this event through The Box Office at Preston Royal Shopping Center, or through Ticketmaster.

During the Fair, can I get into the Fair with my musical ticket?
Yes. It must be the ticket for the current show; but it is good for admission only to the Fair grounds on the day you are ticketed to see the musical. So make a day of it and spend the day at the fair and the night at the musical!!!

Late Seating Policy.
This is dictated by each of the shows. We suggest arriving 30 minutes to show time in order to avoid delays.

Photography Policy.
Absolutely no photography, video recordings, or live audio recordings are permitted.

Do you have any accommodations for the hearing impaired?
Yes, we have headsets available. Please go to the infrared counter between aisles 1 and 2 for your headset.

How long does the show last?
Broadway musicals typically last about 2-1/2 hours, including intermission. A few musicals will run as long as 3 hours or as little as 2, but 2-1/2 is a good rule-of-thumb.

What is the dress code at the musicals?
Dallas Summer Musicals generally recommends business attire or casual business attire. Some patrons do attend dressed in eveningwear, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings. During the State Fair of Texas, many patrons are dressed much more casually, particularly if they plan on attending the Fair that same day.

TICKET QUESTIONS

To speak to someone regarding tickets purchased through the Box Office at Preston Royal,
call 214.691.7200

Where do I buy tickets and how much are they?
Once on-sale, tickets for the individual shows in our season (referred to as "single tickets") are available at The Box Office, 542 Preston Royal Shopping Center (no service charge), Any Ticketmaster Outlet including Macy's, Fiesta, or The Majestic Theatre, On-line at ticketmaster.com Or Charge-By-Phone 214.631.ARTS. (Service Charges Apply.)

What about ½ price tickets?
Unfortunately, half-price/ day-of-performance tickets are not available on any of the shows this year. The decision to offer half-price tickets is decided by the NY producers of each show individually. It is our experience that musical producers are no longer interested in offering this promotion.

What do I do if I lost my tickets, have questions about will-call, etc.?
Please contact either Ticketmaster (214-373-8000) or The Box Office at Preston Royal Shopping Center (214-691-7200), depending on where you bought your tickets, for additional information. In case of an emergency during a performance, you may call the Music Hall (214-565-1116) or the Majestic (214-880-0137).

Do I have to have a ticket for my child?
As a rule of thumb, Dallas Summer Musicals requires that all children over the age of one year have a ticket for admittance to the theatre. While children under a year old could enter without paying admission, we would expect that parents will not bring babies to the theatre. Some parents also choose to purchase a less expensive ticket for their child and then have the child sit in their lap in a more expensive section. This practice is acceptable as long as it does not impose on other patrons.

Do you offer student tickets?
Dallas Summer Musicals does not offer a standard discount to students and senior citizens, however, each show may offer a special promotion geared towards students and/or senior citizens.

Do you have group ticket prices available?
Yes. Contact Meredith Ford, Group Sales Manager.

Is a season subscription required to include the State Fair of Texas Show?
Yes. At this time the Fair show is always part of the DSM subscriber package.

e-mail: Meredith Ford
phone: 214.421.5678, x115
fax: 214.428.4526

How many people constitute a group?
Usually groups of 20 or more persons receive a discount off of our regular ticket prices! However some incoming shows require us to use a different number. If you are involved with a school or church group, travel with a bank club or tour group, or just have several friends that like to go to the theatre - let our Group Sales Department arrange your discounted tickets for you.
